The Challenge

The City of Pullman, WA, USA was faced with the challenges of a strenuous terrain and a limited budget. At a StormCon trade show in 2013, City representatives met with CIF Composites and learned about our Pro-Eco-Lite™ headwalls.

“They sounded like a good match for our project. We had a pipe down a steep embankment and wanted to keep disturbance to a minimum,” said Rob Buchert, Stormwater Services Program Manager, City of Pullman.

The Installation

As part of an effort to access an existing pipe inaccessible to equipment, weighing in at 50lbs, the City of Pullman was able to install a 1.5 series headwall with a 300mm SDR pipe by hand tothe desired area.

“It was a quick and easy installation by two ‘non-skilled,’ part-time staff. We were able to walk the headwall down the slope and install with minor grubbing around the existing pipe,” said Rob Buchert.

“The integrity of the product is sound, still performing after three years!”
