Alpharetta, Georgia
The Challenge
The City of Alpharetta, GA, was faced with the challenge of a time crunch and added costs if using a concrete alternative which would result in damage to public property from required extra equipment and more manpower.
“Most of the larger projects go to our on-call stormwater contractor. There is no doubt that our crews could have installed a concrete headwall in this location but it would have taken longer (additional labor cost) and we would have had to rent an excavator”.
Matt Malone, Stormwater Supervisor, City of Alpharetta.
The Installation
The Pro-Eco-Lite™ headwall ended up being a viable solution because of how lightweight and low maintenance the product is
“We were able to place the headwall by hand instead of having to lower a much heavier concrete structure down the slope using a tractor. Equipment use was minimal which was very important as well due do this headwall being within a stream buffer” said Matt Malone, Stormwater Supervisor, City of Alpharetta.
“We could not be happier with the results. My crew was able to knock this project out in two days start to finish and they were all impressed by your product. The headwall has now been installed for ten months and is holding up perfectly even with the extremely heavy rain events we have encountered. I will definitely be applying this product on other projects as the need arises.”
